In 2011, there were 19,454 reported cases of vaccine preventable diseases in the United States alone (Rouch 2011). Most of these cases could have been prevented simply by getting a vaccination for certain diseases. There has been much discussion in recent years over whether or not parents should have their children vaccinated. Parents hear a great deal of information in the medi about the effectiveness and side effects of vaccinations. After hearing all sorts of negative things about vaccinations, it is easy to see why parents would be reluctant to have their children injected with all sorts of chemicals. In the end, the reason that children are not required to be vaccinated is that it is illegal to force someone to be vaccinated, but is†¦show more content†¦Many people choose to rely on what is known as â€Å"herd immunity† to protect their children from infectious diseases. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases describes herd immunity by saying t hat when a critical portion of a community is immunized against a contagious disease, most members of the community are protected against that disease (NIAID 2010). This lulls many people into a false sense of security from preventable diseases. This principle is based on the assumption that people are stagnant and that communities stay completely together all the time. In the case of the seven year old and measles mentioned previously, the idea of a herd immunity was proven ineffective when the child returned to the United States with the measles disease and infected those who were unprotected. Unless every single bacteria or virus on the planet is destroyed, there can be no way for those who choose not to be vaccinated to be protected from disease. There are a few exceptions where herd immunity is the only way to keep someone safe from disease. In rare cases, children cannot be vaccinated because they are allergic to part of the vaccination or because their immune systems are compromised due to cancer, HIV, transplants, and many other medical complications (Shepherd amp; Grabenstein, 2001). â€Å"You shouldn’t have the shot (MMR) if your immune system is weak because of cancer drugs, corticosteroids, or AIDS† (CDC, 2014). Comparisons are abundant between many ofShakespeares works. Numerous comparisons can be made in characters, plot, andspeech between Romeo and Juliet, which is a tragedy, and Much Ado About Nothing,which is a comedy. First, corresponding characters in both plays includevillains, lovers, and friends in addition to characters who provide comicrelief. These works have a similar villain. Tybalt of Romeo and Juliet issimilar to Don John in Much Ado About Nothing in that both characters do notapprove of the lovers relationships and wish to break them up. Furthermore,Romeo and Juliet are similar to Claudio and Hero, who are the leading couples ineach play. The comic relief in each play is the watch in Much Ado About Nothingand the servants in Romeo and Juliet. Also, Mercutio and Bene*censored* are bothscornful of love. However, Bene*censored* does finally fall in love withBeatrice. Additionally, each male young lover has his group of friends in eachplay. However, in Much Ado About Nothing, Hero also has her group ofacquaintances; Juliet does not. Also, several similarities in plot exist betweenRomeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing. In each of these plays, a romancebetween young lovers includes a false death of the female character, which themale character believes to be real. In Romeo and Juliet, there is a fatalending; in which both of the lovers kill themselves because they would ratherdie than go on living without each other. However, in Much Ado About Nothing,the false death is discovered before there are any real deaths. Both couples doend up together, although one is in life and the other in death. In addition,similarities in speech occur in these works. Of course, the same Shakespeareanlanguage is in each work. Both of these plays have apparent oxymorons aboutlove. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo says of his crush at the time, O brawlinglove, O loving hate (Shakespeare, 1.1.181). And in Much Ado About Nothing,Beatrice asks Bene*censored*, But for which of my good parts did you firstsuffer love for me? (Shakespeare 5.2. 63-64). Suffer love is an apparentoxymoron because it consists of two dissimilar terms. Also, the much overusedrhetorical poetry is present in both of the plays. Additionally, the rules ofShakespearean addressing are used in both. In conclusion, WilliamShakespeares Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing can be compared incharacters, plot, and speech. Hardy then describes how Boldwood crossed over to Bathsheba, kissed her hand and, put on his hat, opened the door, and went into the darkness, nobody thinking of preventing him. No one probably stops him because it is such a sudden shock. This shows how insane Boldwood has become. The Hidden Meaning  of Robert Frost's Mending Wall   "Mending Wall" is a poem written by the poet Robert Frost. The poem describes two neighbors who repair a fence between their estates. It is, however, obvious that this situation is a metaphor for the relationship between two people. The wall is the manifestation of the emotional barricade that separates them. In this situation the "I" voice wants to tear down this barricade while his "neighbor" wants to keep it. "Neighbor" is here a metaphor for two people who are emotionally close to each other. "Good fences make good neighbors", is a line the author emphasizes by using it two times. The "neighbor" says the line while the main character does not agree with it. He can not see that there is something between them they need to be "walling in or walling out". The "I"-voice sees himself as a good spirited person. He is obviously worried because a person he cares about is shutting him out. He thinks that his "neighbor" is of a dark disposition. "He is all pine and I am apple orchard", the poem says. Pine is a dark tree while apple trees have white flowers. In "Mending Wall" the main character finds gaps in the fence. I believe the emotions between the characters make these gaps. He informs the neighbor and together they repair the fence with boulders. When they meet they argue or have communication problems. This is why they manage to repair the barricade between them. However, I would say that their emotions, especially the main character’s, try to get the boulders off balance so the wall can be leveled with the ground. The balancing of boulders is a symbol of their meetings; "We have to use a spell to make them balance". "We wear our fingers rough", the author writes about the handling of the boulders. One may interpret this to signify that the meetings between these two "neighbors" are very hard on them. This is a long one-stanza narrative poem. All the lines have five stresses and are written in iambic pentameter or blank verse, which was also Shakespeare's chosen meter in his plays.

It is stated in Woburn's City Hall that â€Å"Woburn's public water supply is over 125 years old, one of the oldest systems in the state. Development of the water supply system closely followed the growth of the city's population and industry.† This statement goes to show that the water supply in Woburn was old and could have been one of the reasons for it being contaminated which makes W.R. Grace & Company not to blame, but rather the government.Beatrice Foods Company purchased fifteen acres of land in the Woburn area where wells G and H belonged. The investigators found a dozen decaying barrels of waste that containedsome Trichloroethylene, but they were decaying because they were left for such a long period of time, leading to the conclusion that this could not have been a valid reason to charge Beatrice Foods Company. The decaying barrels were simply on the property Beatrice Foods Company owned, they did no damage to the river nor the wells. Hence, this charge is invalid towards this Beatrice Foods Company because the barrels were simply placed there and a photograph has proven the waste shown. â€Å"Historic aerial photographs of the site showed drums of waste present on the site as early as 1968.† This quote gives proof that Beatrice Foods Company had no way of contaminating wells G and H. Although Trichloroethylene was found in these barrels, as the other experts have already testified, Trichloroethylene alone could not have caused leukemia- it was the river which was contaminated with other chemicals which reacted to the Trichloroethylene. Since Beatrice Foods Company had the barrels on the side of their property it gave the wells more contact with the river. W.R. Grace & Company and Beatrice Foods Company are both excellent companies and would never intentionally do anything to result in the illness and/or death of a human being. Therefore having the plaintiffs accuse both of these companies for causing multiple illnesses and deaths for not correctly disposing of chemicals is wrong because it was not their fault. The plaintiffs saw this as an opportunity to put the blame on these big companies since they were neighboring the properties to wells G and H, along with the actions they took, but as has been proven, the disposal of the chemicals and the barrels could not have contaminated the wells. Both companies followed the regulations in place for the enhancement of a safe environment within and outside the company. No real identified harm came from the companies, it was simply an accusation to get retribution for the sickness and death of the Woburn children. The chemical, epidemiology, and medical experts, along with the geologist of this case have helped bring in evidence, along with my evidence, to display that Trichloroethylene had slight to zero ties towards leukemia, instead it was the river being alread y polluted when it reached wells G and H. How the chemicals were handled could not have caused leukemia. Emotive began life as an adjective meaning â€Å"causing movement† and then acquired the connotation of â€Å"capable of emotion,† but its primary sense now, dating from early twentieth-century literary criticism, is â€Å"evoking emotions.† (The verb emote, meaning â€Å"to express emotions,† is a back-formation not from emotive but from the noun emotion.)
